RuggaMatrix International 010 – The Man in the Middle

It’s RuggaMatrix bonus show.

This is the full interview with Sydney based international referee Stuart Dickinson. Neutral referees have made way for merit based referees in the Super 14. It’s all about getting the best referees officiating the best games. SANZAR’s move is a bold one but controversial in some circles of the game.

Dickinson talks about the opening round between the Waratahs and the Hurricanes. He also reveals the process for his upcoming Six Nations commitment which involves a different set of experimental laws. In a nutshell.. this is rare insight into the mysterious world of referees. Dickinson gives an impressive interview with no subjects too hard to handle.

We also recount the World Cup Final between England and South Africa in which Dickinson was the TMO. He had to deny England winger Mark Cueto a try after spotting contact with the sideline. And he had to do it without a freeze frame.
